The purpose of the training is to understand the key concepts and principles of Privacy and Data Protection in a professional context. After a first focus on the main concepts and principles, we will tackle – with concrete examples – key changes of the new regulation that will be applicable as of 25 May 2018. We will also explain, in practice, what are the key points of attention in order to legally collect and manage data. We will cover typical inbound and outbound points of data and give guidelines in order to perform a successful internal data audit. Finally, we will provide you with additional explanation about the ACC’s Data Protection model.
Jan has been active in the TMT sector for over more than 20 years now. He has acquired an extensive knowledge of this sector and is often required by several major national and international actors to assist them in larger TMT projects, advising them both in corporate matters (M&A) and in IT & Data Protection matters. Jan regularly carries out larger Data Management audits for major players both in the TMT sector and in miscellaneous other sectors in relation to their virtual data management in which he often works in close collaboration with Agnès Maqua.
Agnès has an extensive knowledge in TMT & IP practices with 30 years expertise both for Belgian and international companies. Agnès is also very active in the Advertising sector working with advertisers, advertising agencies, media agencies, media sales houses. Agnès is regularly involved in the digital advertising initiatives and their related legal issues and constraints : Targeted Advertising, Data Management, Online Customer Behavior & Profiling, etc. In this context, Agnès regularly carries out larger Data Management audits together with Jan Decorte.
Nicolas regularly provides legal services to a large number of Belgian and international companies in the context of Media and Advertising. He also has a particular focus on Privacy and Data Protection, helping clients to navigate the increasingly complex regulatory landscape in this area. In this context, he has also been appointed as a Visiting Professor at the IHECS.
